What to Expect
To begin, our audiologist will go over the paperwork you filled out while waiting. We will discuss your intake history and talk about what brought you in, where you are having trouble hearing, and what your expectations are.
After our conversation, we’ll perform an ear exam using an otoscope. We will ensure there is no earwax build-up and that your eardrum looks healthy.
Then we’ll begin the hearing exam by checking your ear pressure (tympanometry).
We will test your ability to hear different tones and frequencies, as well as perform air and bone testing and speech testing.
We’ll go over your results with you which are recorded on an audiogram. If you decide to move forward with hearing aids, we’ll show them to you and go over your options.
